Fire Protection Inspection
Authorisations for performing fire protection activities under the Fire Protection Act (Official Gazette, no. 92/10) in which foreign nationals may engage, are as follows:
1. Authorisation for testing stationary fire alarm and extinguishing systems

The authorisation for testing the soundness and functionality of portable and mobile fire extinguishers is issued by the manufacturer or his or her legal representative.

1. Authorisation for testing stationary fire alarm and extinguishing systems
Requirements:
- A legal person must have at least one permanent employee per each of the following professional qualifications: electrical engineering, mechanics and chemistry (or fire protection), holding a degree in undergraduate university studies or professional undergraduate studies of at least three years and one employee with secondary technical qualification who has passed the examination of professional competence for persons who engage in the testing of stationary fire protection systems
- A legal person must have the testing equipment prescribed by Article 10 of the Ordinance on testing the operation of fixed fire protection systems
2. Authorisation for testing stationary systems for detection of flammable gases and vapours
Requirements:
- A legal person must have at least one permanent employee per each of the following professional qualifications: electrical engineering and mechanics, holding a degree in undergraduate university studies or professional undergraduate studies of at least three years and one employee with a secondary technical qualification who has passed the examination of professional competence for persons who engage in the testing of stationary fire protection systems
- A legal person must have the testing equipment prescribed by Article 10 of the Ordinance on testing the operation of fixed fire protection systems
3. Authorisation for drafting a fire protection study (issued to a natural person) fulfilling the requirements under points a) or b)

- Professional qualification: university qualification, i.e. a degree in graduate studies or integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies in technics
- Special requirements: a passed examination of professional competence for persons who engage in construction, in line with special legislation
- Training: complementing and perfecting their knowledge in the area of fire protection
- Background: at least five years of working experience in construction planning or expert supervision of fire protection in buildings or at least two years of working experience in construction planning or expert supervision in relation to fire protection in buildings (in this case one needs to have a postgraduate and/or specialist degree in the area of fire engineering and/or fire protection in buildings with at least 60 ECTS points),
- Professional qualification: university qualification, i.e. a degree in graduate university studies or integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies in technics
- Special requirements: passed examination of professional competence covering the area of fire protection
- Background: at least five years of working experience in inspection of fire protection in buildings
The authorisation for testing the soundness and functionality of portable and mobile fire extinguishers is issued by the manufacturer or his or her legal representative.
Requirements:
- Prescribed by the manufacturer or his or her legal representative
